Red Mushroo Silk Handloom Banarasi Saree with Black Contrast Border
Handloom Mushroo Silk · Sona Rupa Kalga Buta · Black & Purple Contrast Border
A luminous handloom Mushroo silk Banarasi in a rich red that deepens to rani pink as it catches the light — the satin-lustre hallmark of Mushroo weaving. Curving kalga (paisley) butas in Sona Rupa gold-and-silver zari climb the drape, with small floral buti scattered across the body. Its defining feature is the bold black contrast border and pallu edge, woven with a purple-and-silver meenakari floral vine that plays dramatically against the red. Soft, lustrous and effortless to drape. Blouse included.

Mushroo is a traditional satin weave with a pure silk face and a softer reverse — prized for generations for its liquid lustre and comfortable fall. The Sona Rupa zari alternates gold and silver threads so the kalga butas shift in tone across the length, while the contrasting black border — a much-loved Banarasi device — frames the red body and lets the meenakari florals stand out in full colour. A handloom piece where the play of red against black does all the talking.
