Kota Doria is named for the city of Kota in Rajasthan, where it has been woven for centuries. The defining characteristic is the khat pattern — small square checks formed by the interlacing of silk and cotton threads — which gives the fabric its signature crispness and makes it one of the lightest, most breathable weaves in India. "Double tissue" refers to the additional metallic weft that gives this version its golden lustre. The tested zari used here is real metal-wrapped thread, not imitation — the gold stands the test of time.
