Gold & Red Assam–Banaras Fusion Tissue Kora Silk Saree with Kaduwa Jamdani
Woven by Two Master Weavers on One Loom · Tissue Kora Silk · Kaduwa Jamdani · One of a Kind · Blouse Included
A rare meeting of two weaving traditions, woven together on a single loom by two master weavers — one from Assam and one from Banaras. The luminous gold tissue Kora silk body shimmers with light and is scattered with delicate red-and-white floral butis. It opens into a bold vermillion-red pallu and wide borders, densely woven with intricate Kaduwa Jamdani florals and paisley picked out in fine white and gold zari. Truly a one-of-a-kind heirloom piece. Blouse included.

This saree is one of only two ever made — a genuine fusion of Assam and Banaras weaving, created on the same loom by two master weavers working side by side, one carrying each tradition. In the Kaduwa Jamdani technique, every motif is worked individually into the weave rather than carried across the width, so the reverse holds no floats or shortcuts. With our Assam weaver now returned home, no further fusion sarees will be made; the first of the pair has already found its owner, and this is the last one that remains.
